This story of an unlikely preacher and the forgiving God who called him by name chronicles much of the author's life, but he insists that this is not an autobiography. Rather, it is the story of God's work in the life of one particular sinner. The detail's of Dr. Parrott's early days in ministry are heartwarming and often hilarious. God called a headstrong young Texan born in the midst of the Great Depression - a sheet metal worker who never even read the Bible - to preach! In later years Dr. Parrott served a church full of astronauts and rocket scientists. Another appointment brought a brush with organized crime. Perhaps most fascinating of all, Dr. Parrott's ecstatic experience in 1956 led "Bobby" (the name used by Dr. Parrott's parents and by God as Being Itself) into deep abiding friendship with renowned theologian Dr. Albert Outler.
Bobby Tells Our Story presents "Bobby" as the sinner that he is, that we all are. It points to the Truth - Christ - who saves. Readers may find themselves identifying with the writer and discovering Christ who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Return to top
